Lunaris Medical Clinic — Primary care and emotional wellness in Caguas, Puerto Rico

Her academic journey began at Universidad del Sagrado Corazón in Santurce, Puerto Rico, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. She later continued her education in Medical Technology, a profession she practiced for several years, gaining valuable experience in laboratory sciences and healthcare.

Her continuous desire for professional growth led her to earn two master’s degrees: one in Clinical Laboratory Administration and another in Molecular Microbiology, further strengthening her expertise in both the administrative and scientific aspects of healthcare.

Yet, since childhood, she had carried an even greater dream in her heart: to become a physician and dedicate her life to serving others.

In 2008, she decided to continue her professional education in the Dominican Republic, where she began her studies toward a Doctor of Medicine degree. At the age of 31, she achieved one of the most significant milestones of her life when she graduated as a physician.

Upon returning to her native Puerto Rico, she continued working as a medical technologist while preparing for and completing the examinations required to practice medicine. After successfully completing her board examinations, she pursued her medical internship at Hospital del Maestro in Hato Rey, successfully completing this important stage of her clinical training.

In 2021, Dr. Rivera Nieves began practicing as a hospitalist physician at Hospital San Francisco in Río Piedras, where she worked for approximately three years. During this time, she gained extensive experience in the management and care of hospitalized patients.

She later took another important step in her professional career by joining a 330 Health Center, where she began practicing as a primary care physician. This role brought her even closer to one of her greatest passions: caring for her patients not only during times of illness, but also through prevention, education, and continuity of care.

Currently, she also provides medical services through telemedicine under Triple-S, continuing her commitment to making healthcare more accessible to patients.

Behind every academic degree, every shift worked, and every stage of her career, one purpose has remained constant: to serve the people of Puerto Rico.

From a very young age, Dr. Rivera Nieves felt in her heart a desire to help others, particularly those who need it most. From that calling, years of dedication and sacrifice, and a childhood dream of one day having her own medical practice, Lunaris Medical Clinic was born.

Soon, Dr. Morayma E. Rivera Nieves will assume the presidency of Lunaris Medical Clinic, a space created with the vision of providing healthcare that is compassionate, personal, professional, and centered on the individual needs of every patient.

Lunaris Medical Clinic will offer primary care, preventive medicine, and weight management services, with an approach focused not only on the treatment of disease, but also on prevention and the promotion of healthy lifestyles.

For Dr. Rivera Nieves, Lunaris represents far more than a medical office. It represents the culmination of years of sacrifice, preparation, perseverance, and faith. Above all, it represents the opportunity to fulfill the dream and calling that God placed in her heart as a child:
